Kim Delaney Arrested on Suspicion of Assault with a Deadly Weapon

Apr 1, 2025 By Benjamin Evans

Kim Delaney, best known for her roles in "NYPD Blue" and "All My Children," was arrested over the weekend on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department. Lt. Jose Salgado, watch commander at the Marina Del Rey Sheriff’s Station, confirmed that Delaney was arrested at her residence on Saturday. She was still in custody as of Sunday evening and is scheduled to be in court on Tuesday for arraignment.

Delaney’s partner, James Morgan, was also arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor spousal battery. He posted bond and was released, according to authorities. The incident reportedly involved a domestic disturbance, which led to the arrests.

A History of Legal Troubles

This is not Delaney’s first encounter with the law. In 2002, she was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and later pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of reckless driving. She was sentenced to two years of probation and paid a $300 fine. In 2003, Delaney sought treatment for alcohol abuse.

In 2005, Delaney, who starred in "CSI: Miami," lost custody of her then 15-year-old son after he testified that she endangered his life by driving under the influence of alcohol with him in the car. She was also escorted from the stage in 2011 after delivering an incoherent speech during an event honoring former Defense Secretary Robert Gates.

Recent Career Highlights

Delaney has had a recurring role as Jackie Templeton on the daytime drama "General Hospital" and has appeared in several other shows, including "The O.C.," "Army Wives," and "Chicago Fire". Her most recent legal troubles come just a few months after she celebrated her and Morgan’s second wedding anniversary in October 2024.

Kim Delaney’s recent arrest highlights the ongoing challenges she has faced both personally and professionally. As she prepares to face legal proceedings, her fans and the entertainment community await further developments.
